The 21 Best Restaurants in Flagler Beach and Palm Coast Florida
In the following post you will find my personal 21 best restaurants in Flagler Beach and Palm Coast. Flagler Beach and Palm Coast Florida are two beautiful coastal towns in the sunshine state. If you’re looking for a great place to eat, you’ll find no shortage of amazing restaurants here. From fresh seafood to local favorites, we’ve compiled a list of the best non-chain restaurants in the area.
Located roughly 60 miles south of Jacksonville, Florida and between St Augustine and Daytona Beach, Palm Coast and Flagler Beach are the perfect locations to enjoy more local experiences without the touristy feel of more popular areas. I have been a resident of this area for over 10 years and had been visiting it for many years prior to growing roots permanently.
This is not a list ranking these by popularity and high reviews on Yelp. These are all places that I would personally recommend to visitors and locals alike. They are locally owned, kid friendly, and high quality establishments. I have the pleasure of living in one of the most unique and incredible locations in the sunshine state. And I’m happy to share it with everyone.

My personal favorite place to eat breakfast at Flagler Beach. Hands down the first choice on my list. A family atmosphere in a very laid back environment. Hopefully they have the brat omelet available when you go. It’s AMAZING.

215 St Joe Plaza Dr, Palm Coast, FL 32164, US

The best wings in town. The burgers are pretty legit and of course there is a fantastic collection of craft beer so make your soul warm up. The people are awesome and you won’t find anything bad on the menu. The cheese curds will make you think you’re in Wisconsin without all the cold weather.
El Pollo Colorao Puerto Rican Eatery
227 St Joe Plaza Dr, Palm Coast, FL 32164, US
Open Tuesday-Friday 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
This is my go to restaurant when we want the best chicken in town. The sides are incredible and the atmosphere these boys have created is awesome. Get the garlic bread and a side of pork. I can’t describe this to you in words. You need to experience it for yourself.
The Turtle Shack

Open Tuesday-Thursday 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM and Friday/Saturday 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
There are a 100 places in Flagler Beach to eat. Nothing compares to the Turtle Shack. North of the busy beach area, a stones throw from the waves, the Turtle Shack has the BEST BURGER in Flagler County. You won’t find a place like this on the Atlantic Ocean ANYWHERE. It’s small, so get there early. The Turtle Shack is also kid friendly. You won’t be disappointed in your meal.
BreakAwayz

BreakAwayz is a restaurant along A1A in north Flagler Beach that offers fusion style food and many different flavors to fill your pallet with healthy choices. Typically you’ll find live music (good and bad depending on the day) and the beach atmosphere you see on TV. The sliders are the best in the county. But don’t let the baja tacos get away either.. All of this with an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean and a long list of craft and domestic beers. This was Grandpa’s Yuke joint back in the day. Now they’re serving up food for everyone.
La Piazza Cafe
101 Palm Harbor Pkwy, Palm Coast, FL 32137
Open Tuesday-Saturday 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Located in European Village in Palm Coast, you won’t find a more authentic and high quality Italian restaurant in the area. Prior to the hour and menu change, this was my second pick for a Saturday breakfast. The owner of this restaurant prides himself on the quality of his establishment from top to bottom. I’ve personally witnessed him cleaning up the surrounding areas around other places in EV setting the standard for the rest to follow, and the food is no different. Forget Olive Garden or Carabbas, head to La Piazza first.
JT’s Seafood Shack

Located in the Hammock, JT’s provides a wide variety of food choices from seafood to burgers in one of the most beautiful areas of the county. With indoor and outdoor seating options as well as occasional live music, JT’s is a great place to take your company or to settle in for the evening. I love the fish tacos. They are not your typical fish tacos. You get to choose the fish and the bring the fixings that you can build them yourself.

Out classing it’s local competition, the pho can’t be beat. Tram’s also offers banh mi in a variety of options for you. You will not be disappointed.
The Java Joint

Open Monday-Friday 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM and Saturday/Sunday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
The Java Joint is the last place to visit in north Flagler Beach but it shouldn’t be last on your list. On days when I can’t eat at Friends Cafe, the Java Joint is where I’m heading. With an elevated view of the ocean, you can’t find a better place to start your day or eat your lunch. You’ll find a full array of american and southern fare options if you’re in the mood for a traditional meal with views you won’t find anywhere else.

While making your way south on A1A, you’ll come across what used to be Lagerheads restaurant. This is now the Beach Front Grille. With a great Sunday Brunch buffet that is the best at the beach, there isn’t any reason to not enjoy your Sunday morning here. During the week, the menu offers your favorite soups, salads, and entrees to please the most picky eater (including the kids). There are only a couple places on this list that provide you the cruise in and cruise out feel the the beach can offer and this is definitely one of them.

Open Daily 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM, *Hours can change depending on the demand of the BBQ!*
Captain’s is located in the Hammock at Bings Landing. Now, come on. With all the chain BBQ joints out there, who doesn’t want the filling local BBQ spot where you can sit and watch the intercoastal waterway and the flats while you eat? Captains knows how to run their pit. This is the best BBQ in town. And when the seasons are right, you can watch the sun start to fade over the marsh. It can get quite busy with boats launching throughout the day and the locals riding at Malacompra, so get there and be patient. But, be hungry.
High Tides at Snack Jack
2805 S. Oceanshore Blvd. Flagler Beach, FL 32136

Here’s the deal. This is the one of the only restaurants that you will be able to eat ON the Atlantic Ocean Beach. It is by far the most unique location you will find in Flagler County. Note, the parking is ALL valet because of the location. High Tides is located 3 miles south of the Flagler Beach pier. High Tides offers high quality beach fare. Fish tacos, seafood platters, sandwiches, and incredible appetizers. With an awesome beer domestic beer selection, wine, and frozen daiquiris, you won’t want to leave. You can’t get closer to the ocean than this. This is old laid back Florida so “Seas The Day”.
Flagler Fish Company
180 S Daytona Ave, Flagler Beach, FL 32136
Open Wednesday – Monday 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Flagler Fish Company is located in the center of Flagler Beach. If you’re looking to buy fresh fish to take home or have them cook it for you, this is the place you’re looking for. Pick the fresh fish from the cooler, tell them how you want it, and enjoy. Not only do they have fish selections but they do offer additional menu options as well as desserts. My recommendation, order a fresh fish from the cooler, have them cook it and save room for a brownie. The brownies are incredible!
The Bantam Chef

Open Monday – Thursday 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Friday/Saturday 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Sunday 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
The Bantam Chef is a time honored establishment in Bunnell. It is the home of the famous fish sandwich. Once you try it, you’ll understand why. It’s HUGE. This is a local “mom and pop” restaurant that’s been in business for 40 years. It’s well known around town and well worth the stop. With outside covered eating areas, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal on a cool evening or if you’re looking for a place from way back and to avoid the beach scene.
A1A Burrito Works/Taco Shop
Flagler Beach, Palm Coast, St George Street, and St Augustine Beach
Check the website for the locations and hours
A1A Burrito works has grown from the small location that is still in business at the original 400 South Ocean Shore Blvd in Flagler Beach address. This is a cool place Everyone in town has eaten at one of these locations a time or 2. Some of the best burrito and taco creations around are available here. You’ll be sure to find the perfect portion and combination for you. I personally prefer the 3 chicken taco combination with the works and baja style. All of these have to be kung-fu style of course. This is a soft shell taco with melted cheese with a crunch taco. Great atmosphere for both adults and kids.
Tortuga’s Florida Kitchen and Bar

Hours Monday-Thursday 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, Friday 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM, Sat/Sun 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Tortuga’s is located along A1A on the south side of Flagler Beach. This is a great place to enjoy a lunch or dinner while watching over the Atlantic Ocean. They offer a wide variety of food for all tastes. They have a full bar and happy hour from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday. Tortuga’s also offers events such as Trivia Night on Monday’s and Open Mic Night every Wednesday. I can honestly say that from the many times I’ve eaten here, I’ve not had a bad meal. If you can get in and find a table upstairs, it comes highly recommended.
The Chicken Pantry

If you’ve been to Flagler Beach over the past few years, you’ve surely seen the Funky Pelican. Located at the Flagler Beach pier, the Funky Pelican offers a wide variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals for everyone. They also have an outdoor bar located on the beach. It’s definitely an experience on a nice cool evening or in the morning for a relaxing breakfast. You can watch the surfers or even the fisherman on the pier while you eat. Maybe even an occasional shrimp boat.
High Jackers Restaurant
202 Airport Rd, Palm Coast, FL. 32164
Hours Closed Sunday and Monday, Open Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
High Jackers is location at the Flagler County airport. This isn’t only a convenient location for all of the private aircraft commuters but it’s also a fun place to eat. If you want great food and drinks at a place where the kids can watch the small local pilots take off and land, this is your place. High Jackers is a sister location to the High Tides Snack Jack in Flagler Beach.
In Conclusion
There are many other restaurants that aren’t on this list. Some I’ve been to and some I haven’t. If they aren’t on the list, it’s likely because I’ve personally had an unpleasant experience there or I’m just not a fan of the tourist driven atmosphere. Some of the places not on the list, were previous favorites that have fallen off over the years due to changes in style or ownership.
At any rate, if you are in town and you choose to eat at a local restaurant that isn’t a chain or the “pizza” spots, you can’t go wrong with any of these.
